I don’t know how I made it through the last 3.5 weeks. Mac is so good at delayed gratification and making himself wait, but not me! Since the results of our chromosomal screening test were sealed and hidden in his truck, I had no choice but to put it out of my mind. Waiting for Katie to be free was totally worth it.
Tonight we got to capture the epic moment of our surprise on camera as we found out the sex of our baby!
I ordered these confetti poppers from Amazon and was so anxious they wouldn’t work. One is pink and the other is blue but they both look the same from the outside. Props to Katie who had to read the test and match us with the right popper based on the key! We had a moment there where we all had to review chromosomes and prepare haha!
I won’t carry on and will instead let the photos tell the story! The popper was fantastic and we will treasure these images of pure joy and excitement.
I will say for the past month or so I had a strong feeling it was a boy. At first this terrified me because my whole life I saw myself with a daughter. Bows, tulle and everything pink is my wheelhouse. Being a boy mom seemed so outside my realm.
Having a baby will be new for both of us though and we’ll be learning it all together! Having 3.5 weeks to come to terms with my intuition brought me such comfort and I am now over the moon to have a boy. If this little man is anything like this father, the world will be a better place!
